SCL-UK is currently managing a team from the UK and Denmark who operate shipborne radiometers to provide fiducial reference measurements (FRM) of Sea Surface Temperature (SST). These in situ measurements are used to validate SST measurements from satellite instruments, including the Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer (SLSTR) on the Copernicus Sentinel-3 spacecraft. The consortium has a long history of collaborative working and our role in this project includes routine project management and the organising of the annual ISFRN (International SST FRM Radiometer Network) Conference. The "ships4SST" website describes the work performed on this project.
